This year’s Festival is certainly going to put the ‘Rail’ into ‘Ale’! First of all for those Rail Ale fans coming from further afield, we are delighted that UK Railtours will be running a repeat of their sell out 2015 tour, bringing visitors from London and the South East by high speed train into the Festival on Thursday 18th May. Starting at London St Pancras the tour will pick up passengers at Luton Airport Parkway and Bedford before heading north to the delights of Rail Ale. For more information on this fantastic day out and to buy your tickets, please click here.
But that is not all as we’ve lined up another treat for those Rail Ale fans a little closer to Barrow Hill…in a first ever link up with Rail Operations Group and Vintage Trains we are pleased to announce a very special train service into the Festival on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th May. A top and tailed Class 37 and Class 47 will pick up passengers from Derby, Chesterfield and Sheffield before heading into the Festival for a few hours of beer tasting, live music and cider drinking. So that’s the ‘Rail’ dealt with – now onto the ‘Ale’…and the beer list is coming together nicely. And the cider list…and the craft keg…and the world bottled beers…and the prosecco bar. Yes you did read that correctly. This year we thought we’d add a little sparkle to our drinks menu and a glass or two of prosecco will certainly do that.
We will also be offering our usual wide range of food stalls to fill in the gaps between rounds of drinks. We know music is high on your list of ‘need to knows’ and you’ll find the confirmed list of acts for this year’s Festival here. For those not lucky enough to bag tickets on the special rail services, the dedicated FREE bus service will also be running from Chesterfield railway station into the Festival.
Thank you everyone and see you in May!
