The most atmospheric Festival of the year is back and we are welcoming OLD faces and NEW to join our Bar Staff Team and Rail Ale Crew


We need volunteers to staff our three Real Ale Bars, the Craft Keg Bar, the Cider Bar, the Wine & Prosecco Bar and the Rail Ale Gin Palace.

The shifts for the 2024 Festival are:

Please advise if you have a preference for the bar you would like to work on.

You do not have to have any experience of working behind the bar nor do you have to be a CAMRA member in order to volunteer at Rail Ale.

We are also looking for people with the relevant experience to act as Bar Managers. Please let us know if you are interested in this role.

There is a huge amount of work that goes into setting up this amazing event. The Rail Ale Crew start setting up the stillage and bars a few weeks before the Festival.  If you would like to be part of this and could give some time, please let us know and we will add you to the Rail Ale Crew WhatsApp group.

From Sunday 12th May we will be ready for line cleaning and general dressing of the venue.  We need people at some point every day until the Festival opens on Thursday 16th May, so as much or as little time you could give would be hugely appreciated. And we’ll keep you fed and watered…

And then Take Down on Sunday 19th May where lunch and beer will be provided.
